I don’t want to have to go into someone’s backyard. I’m rather looking for a cool flower shop this time around in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. The last place I went to had flowers that were already really old.

We recently cleared a LARGE vegetable garden overrun with weeds and surrounded by flowers. We want to put sod down and then a swingset. What should we do to the soil to make sure the old weeds and flowers don’t return?

We are in San Diego. Had our lawn laid out, now time to plant some flowers. Should look colorful. I am planning to plant some tulip and hyacinth bulbs. But these will bloom in spring. Need some flowers which will keep the garden colorful till spring (and beyond). I can either pick up plants from Home Depot (prefer) or sow seeds. Thanks! FYI the temps in our area (right next to the sea) is 65 F high and 38 F low most days.

I need to come up with a scientifice hypothesis and experiment. On a scenic drive I noticed that there are pink flowers growing on the left side of field while blue flowers were all over. I noticed a small group of trees in the middle of the field with deer sleeping under them.

I never understood this. I’ve smelled many flowers in my day, some do smell better than others. But in general, all of them have the same grassy scent. It doesn’t stink, but it certainly doesn’t smell as good as everyone says it does.
